Kamailio is an open-source SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) server. SIP is a signaling protocol used to initiate, maintain, modify, and terminate real-time sessions that involve video, voice, messaging, and other communications applications and services between two or more endpoints on IP networks. Kamailio is a high-performance, modular, and scalable SIP server that can be used to build a variety of communication systems, including VoIP (Voice over IP) platforms, messaging servers, and application servers. Kamailio supports a wide range of features and has a flexible architecture that allows it to be customized and extended through the use of modules and scripts. It is developed and maintained by a community of volunteers.
