What is Virtuozzo?
257
Virtuozzo is a virtualization platform that allows a single physical server to run multiple isolated virtual environments. Virtuozzo is used by hosting providers and other organizations to optimize the utilization of physical hardware resources and to provide a flexible and scalable platform for deploying and managing virtual servers. In Virtuozzo, each virtual environment, or "container," shares the same operating system kernel as the host system, but has its own file system, user accounts, and system libraries, which makes it possible to run multiple instances of different operating systems on the same hardware. Virtuozzo was originally developed by SWsoft, which was later acquired by Parallels, Inc.
