The project is part of the Eclipse Foundation and is an open source implementation of the MQTT (MQ Telemetry Transport) and MQTT-SN (MQTT for Sensor Networks) protocols. These protocols are lightweight messaging protocols specifically designed for use in resource-constrained devices and networks, such as those found in M2M and IoT applications.
