What Is JTAG?
269

JTAG (Joint Test Action Group) is a standard for testing and debugging digital circuits. It is often used to test printed circuit boards (PCBs) in the manufacturing process, as well as to diagnose and troubleshoot faults in electronic systems after they have been assembled. JTAG uses a set of test points on the PCB to allow a device called a JTAG programmer or JTAG debugger to access the internal registers and memory of the device under test. The JTAG standard is supported by a wide range of hardware and software tools, and is often used in conjunction with other debug interfaces such as UART, SPI, and I2C.
